It has been a long time coming but Shona was finally allowed to take her test today at Wood Green Driving Test Centre. Her test was initially booked for November 2020 and moved twice due to lockdowns. A very well deserved 4 minors first time pass

Nik is a brilliant instructor – as quite a nervous driver, he was patient, reassuring and quickly built up my confidence on the road. I never thought I’d pass my test first time and it’s all down to his calm, friendly teaching style. Couldn’t recommend him enough to anyone looking to take lessons.

Waiting times for driving tests

There is still an enormous backlog of driving tests that need to be booked in or rescheduled. For practical tests the nationwide waiting time is about 5 months and there is no indication that this will improve in the near future.
The waiting time for theory test varies from 1 to 3 months depending on area.
